Pixel is short for picture element, and it refers to the tiny "cells" that gather information in a digital camera. The term megapixel, which is found on most digital cameras, simply means 1 million pixels.
The higher the number of pixel, the better the resolution. The higher the resolution, the larger and higher quality prints you can make. Higher quality photos take up more space on your media card, but they will give you the best results.
We recommend at least a 3 megapixel image for any sized canvas. Images that are lower than 3 megapixels can be touched up by our professional photo editing crew.
A regular photo or film negative will have no problems with resolution and quality.
